After that moment, Vincent glanced about from side to side in a slow manner as if he was keeping an eye on something, but he wasn't exactly sure what. Still, it paid to be able to keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground.

Once the pair were inside the grocery store, Vincent reached into his suit pocket and brought out a small notepad and a pen then started writing something down before glancing to Asa from the corner of his eye. "Alright Asa, anything you want while we're here?" He asked.

Asa was distracted as they walked into the grocery store. "Huh?" Turning to him she finally realized that he was talking. "Oh... um, maybe some milk, and maybe the ingrediants to make cheese sandwhiches? Do you mind if I run to the restroom really quick? I forgot to go before we left." Blushing she hoped that he would fall for it and let her go. She wasn't sure she'd be able to get out through there but she was going to try. Rubbing her hands together she looked up at him and smiled gently.

At first, Vincent glanced over to Asa with an arched eyebrow before he spoke. "You really shouldn't have waited before we left." He answered, shaking his head before returning his eyebrow to its original place.

But seeing as though she couldn't really wait but needed to keep an eye on her, he eventually shook his head then answered, "Alright, I gotta use the can as well." Vincent said. "We'll get our shopping afterwards." He said, replacing the notepad and pen back into his jacket pocket.

Once this was accomplished, Vincent glanced from side to side, looking for the restrooms. "Come on." He directed, gesturing with his head.

Ug! She didn't count on him comming with her! Thank goodness the male and female bathrooms were seperate otherwise her plan would have been shot out of the sky faster then she'd realize. Nodding, Asa walked beside Vincent. "Thanks, sorry. Should of thought of it before." Blushing she hoped that they would be a window or some avenue of escape once she got into the bathroom. There was only a certain amount of excuses she could use to get away from him before he started to get seriously suspeicious. And when that happened he'd turn into a hawk and there would be no way she was getting out of his reach then.

Indeed, there was something that caught his eye about Asa's demeanor, but fortunately for him, he just needed to take a leak and be done with it. Upon arrival to the restroom area, Vincent glanced over to the male side then pointed over to the female side before speaking once more.

"OK, I just need to piss then I'll come back out. Go and powder your nose, but don't take too long." Vincent directed. "Besides, we got a lotta thing s to do and not much time to do it with, you got it?" He asked as he then vanished inside of the men's room a moment after he spoke.

She didn't even waste her time in the bathroom, once he entered the male side she bolted, half running, half walking down the aisles towards the exit. Inside her heart was pounding with fear and excitement. Could she really get free before he noticed and get away? With her lungs in her throat she reached the end of the frozen food aisle when two tall men in black flanked her. They hair was short, their eyes covered by sunglasses. Instantly afraid and suspicious, Asa stoped and looked at them. They just looked right back.

"You need to come with us."

"Who are you?"

"Now, Miss Asa." Reaching inside his jacket the Russian showed the handle of his piece. It gleamed black in the refridgerator lighting.

Taking a chance that they wouldn't shoot her in the store, Asa spun on her heel and ran the other way. One of the men swore and both chased her. Weaving through the aisles Asa tried to get out the front door. No way she was going to be taken again, by them or Vincent.

Vincent stopped in the men's room when he thought he heard running footsteps. Heading back out, he spotted Asa already get a small head start on him then snarled quietly. "Son of a bitch...!" He growled quietly as he took off in a hurry.

As he began searching through the aisles and shoving past a few people, he glanced a pair of guys dressed in black suits. With the way their hair was done up and the voice one of them used, Vincent instantly knew without a shadow of a doubt who they were!

Fuck! The Russians! He thought bitterly as he ducked back behind the aisle then reached for his pistol then once more heard footsteps.

With a scowl as he got a clip loaded into the pistol he brandished then turned towards the sound of those footsteps, he kept in close pursuit. Goddammit, Asa! I told you to NOT do this!!! He seethed in thought as he hurried towards the front.

Scrambling as fas as she could, Asa managed to get outside. But now she was in a wide open parking lot. Tears coated her eyes but she dashed them away, she could afford for her vision to get messed up. Running she ducked behind a van just as the Russians exited the grocery store. Peaking around she slowly moved between the cars, sneaking looks occasionally. The Russions were combing the lines, and with her heart beating so fast Asa was sure they could hear. If she didn't do something she was going to get caught.

Using every once of athleticism as he could as well as deciding to keep away from those Ruskies for right now, Vincent soon came out to the front where he saw Asa getting further away from him then ducked into a parking lot. Goddamn her, she was so going to pay for this! Not only did she draw attention to herself, but she was also running the risk of getting him caught as well! The job was that he was solely responsible for her up until the time came on what she would do and nothing more.

Looking back, he spotted the Russians coming out of the grocery store and entering the parking lot, clearly looking for Asa but with a malicious intent hidden behind those shades they wore. He couldn't afford being seen here, and most certainly wouldn't allow those guys to get so much as a finger on her. Without delay, Vincent hurried over to another set of vehicles before he finally came upon Asa trying to carefully inch her way out of hiding only to bump into him.

Before she had a chance to scream, however, Vincent immediately cupped a hand over Asa's mouth to silence her then put a finger to his lips in an effort to tell her to shut up and to keep it shut. But even then, there was anger blazing in his eyes.

At first, as Vincent had come up behind her, Asa felt a heart attack of terror run through her at his touch. But quickly his familar scent come to her and though he was blazing in anger she nodded at his silent directions. Tears finally gathered in her eyes and she couldn't help herself, she threw herself against him and wrapped her arms around him. Even though he was mad as long as he was here with her those Russians wern't going to get her, no way no how.

Pressing her face into his shoulder she hugged him tighter, before she slowly relaxed and let him go. Wiping her eyes she looked up at him.

Two voices were very close, muttering in Russian to each other. Their footsteps were loud against the gravel.

Vincent gave a small gasp when he felt Asa suddenly wrap her arms around Vincent's frame in the form of a tight hug. At that point, he really couldn't be angry at her, but he did feel as though this constitued a whuppin' of sorts. Just to what severity, was in question. However, he could now hear the sounds of gravel crunching underfoot as well as a few angry voices being spoke in Russian. Those guys were getting closer.

Vincent began looking around frantically, trying to think of where to move and what to do.

In a quiet voice, Vincent hastily told Asa this. "On my go, we make a run for it. You got it?" He asked.

Asa shook her head, her hand grasping Vincent's sleeve. Her whisper was harsh.

"To the car? Can you get us in the car before they shoot... us?" It was unlikyly that they would shoot her, seeing as they wanted her alive obviously. But if they found out that Vincent was their competiton they would kill him, she was sure of it. Holding onto his arm almost like she could keep him down and close to her if she didn't let go, Asa trembled. She had thought it was just Vincent who desired her. Aparently not.

Suddenly the walking stoped and her breath caught. Why did they stop?

"Not sure, but I can sure as hell - ...!" Vincent whispered back before his breath got caught in his throat when he heard the footsteps stop.

"Fuck it. Let's get going." Vincent then whispered again as he suddenly lifted Asa into his arms then ran from they stood at all due speed.

The yelps of the Russions were like gun shots to her ears. Holding onto Vincent she closed her eyes and burried her face in his chest. Every ounce of her being prayed that they would make it, and that Vicent's exposed back wouldn't be taken advantage of. Unheading to her prayers a crack of a gun was heard across the lot and Asa could feel blood, but she didn't know who was hit. Blood seeped over her fingers, coating her hands.

They skidded to a halt by the car and she wiggled out of his arms. "Keys Vincent!"

The shouts of the Russians were loud in his ears as he started running hard for the exit, his face fused in focused determination, trying as hard as he might to now avoid the cacophony of gunfire. Unforunately for him, one bullet tagged him hard in the left shoulder, producing a shout of pain from him. "Nnngaaah!!!" He screamed as he dropped to a knee with Asa in his arms. "FUCK!" He snarled angrily as he sluggishly stood back up then ran again with a pained expression.

Upon arrival to the Carrera, he felt Asa wiggling out of his arms then ran to the driver side door, asking him for the keys. Slowly, he reached into his pocket then fished them out then painfully tossed them to her.

"You drive!" He grimaced as he held his shoulder as he walked around to the passenger side with his pistol drawn.

No time for anything but motion, Asa nodded and started the car. Shots flew in the air, smashing a side mirror. As soon as Vincent slid into the seat she gunned the car backwards, and spun it around. Grabbing the clutch she shot out of the parking lot and onto the street. Ignoring the speed limit she took side streets all the way back to the safe house. Pulling into the driveway she drove down to a covered parking area and turned the car off. Grabbing the keys she got out of her seat and went around to the other side, opening the door and reaching in, brushing his shoulder.

"Come on, let me help you." Gently she took hold of his arms and ushered him out of the car.

Vincent returned fire at the Russians with a snarled look on his face, causing them to duck and look for cover. Once the passenger door was open, Vincent carefully slid into the seat, shutting the door with his right hand then held on as tight as he could when Asa literally flew backwards then J-turned it to flip it in the other direction then took off faster than a shot.

Throughout the entire ride back, Vincent's face was wrenched in indescribable pain and was bleeding slowly from the gunshot wound. Fortunately for him, it went in and out, so at least it wasn't totally major.

"I'm alright... It went out..." He explained as he was helped out of the car, hissing out painfully.

"I'm so sorry Vincent this is all my fault. I know you don't want to hear it but I thought it was just you who was interested in me. I thought if I got away..." She shook her head sadly and touched his uninjured shoulder. "I'm so sorry Vincent, I never ever thought you'd get hurt. You must know I'd never wish that upon you."

Holding him steady (or at least trying to) she walked with him into his place. "Where do you keep the medical supplies, there's no way you can patch that up on your own." Her voice was soft and soothing, her hand ran over his skin unintentionally in a placating manner, trying to calm him.

"No, no... It's alright..." Vincent responded, shaking his head and baring his gritted teeth as he held his shoulder as he was walked into the safehouse then stepped over to the couch and laid down on it after dropping the pistol on the living room floor.

"Ahhh... fuck..." He growled painfully as he laid back, staring up at the ceiling. "They're in the bathroom..." He said, pointing in that direction.

Asa ran into the bathroom and gathered a whole bunch of stuff. Going to the couch she set it on the side table before getting scisors and matches. Kneeling beside him she put a hand on his back. She didn't say anything as she gently raised each arm and slipped him out of his suit jacket. Laying it asside she cut his shirt down the middle, exposing his wound. Her hands were soft as she peeled each half off with a minimum of movement for his body. "Just lay still."

Using the alcohol she rubbed at the gunshot wound, getting out all the fibers and blown to bits skin. She knew it hurt him and it made her breath catch. Feeling guilty the whole time she cleaned and doctored his wound. Using the matches she steralized a needel and stiched the whole up, placing a bandage over it when she was finished.

"Can you sit up? I need to deal with your chest."

Taking a rag she washed the blood off him, washing it from her fingers as she went.

Vincent knew full well of what to expect at this point, so it wasn't anything new to him. Carefully, he shifted around onto his back, letting her get the blood stained jacket off of his body then used the scissors to cut it straight down the middle to expose his upper body. The size of the wound itself looked to be roughly about the size of Vincent's thumb.

"Ngh!" He grunted as Asa began to swab at it with an alcohol prep to at least decontanimate the bloodstained area. He honesty just wanted to lurch off of the couch and scream, but he had to just keep still.

Then the stitching needle comes into play. He didn't think much of it at first, but when he felt it... "NNN!" He seethed painfully before eventually settling back down. "Gah, fuck!" He growled afterwards. Fortunately, she did the necessary patchwork on his back before she spoke again, asking him to it up if remotely possible.

Vincent gave a quick but silent nod as he slowly sat up on the couch, turning to face her. He pointed to the gun on the ground then spoke slowly.

"Take one bullet out of the clip then give it to me. I'll need it to clamp my teeth down on." He said.

"Forgive me, I forgot that this hurts that much. But... you could chip your teeth on that." Taking the gun away from him she set it on the table and runs to the kitchen, getting a dish cloth. cutting it in half she rolled it up so it was thick and placed it against his lips. "Here, this will work better."

Sitting down again before him she knelt between his knees and slowly went to work. She watched his muscles tremble and jump, sometimes running a tender hand over him, trying to quiet his inner hurt.

When she was done he was bandaged on both sides, and the blood was washed from his body.

"Vincent... forgive me for this. Not just the gunshot but... also running away. Maybe this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't done that."

Under a technicality, it did more than just hurt that much. It was enough to make him find that son of a bitch then make sure he got it back threefold over and over again.

Upon hearing Asa decline his request, he only looked at her with a look that said, "Are you kidding me" but it didn't seem to matter at this point. Still, she came back with something for him to bite down on, this being a dishcloth that was cut cleanly in half then rolled up so that it was nice and thick. Grudgingly, Vincent took it in his mouth then clamped his strong jaw down on it, waiting for her to make the patchwork on the front of his injured shoulder.

Once she began... The pain was unbelievable. It was something that no animal nor man would want to suffer. He gave a few screeches into the dishcloth and tightened his eyes shut, half wanting to reach out and grab her by the arm to tell her to stop. But no, he instead sat right where he was, his hands gripping the cushions he sat on tightly.

Once it was done and was bandaged on both sides, Vincent spat out the cloth lazily, letting it drop to the floor in a wadded heap then sighed heavily.

"Ahh... God..." He grumbled, blinking his eyes a few times before laying back down.

"Asa... Just stop..." Vincent answered, shaking his head. "What happened, happened. There was nothing you could've done that woulda changed anything..." He added. "However, that was what I was talking about if you decided to run." He concluded, forcing a smirk and attempted a small laugh.

Asa saw his pain and it hurt her to inflict even more. But she knew it had to be done and she knew she could do it thourouly. Looking up at him she let her eyes fill with tears, but she knew he didn't want them. Careful to be gentle, she leaned forward and put her arms around him.

"You saved me though. You were so brave Vincent, I knew that if you were with me you would protect me. You'd never let those Russians get me. I'm so glad you noticed I had ran."

Holding him tight she nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck, her hot breath against his skin, a few of her tears resting on his collarbone.

Somehow, the feeling of Asa's hot breath on his skin relaxed Vincent to a greater degree, almost to the point of him falling asleep on her. But the feeling of her nuzzling into the crook of his neck brought him back out of it. It was a delayed reaction, but Vincent slowly brought an arm over Asa's back and just let it rest there aside from maybe a few lazy strokes on her spine.

"I knew a few of those Ruskies... I knew what they were capable of." Vincent answered. "That's why I had to..." He stopped a moment when he felt tears on his skin, causing him to lift his head up then glanced over to Asa.

Sighing quietly, he moved that hand back then rested it on her cheek then brushed a thumb near her eye to move the tears that had now sprung freely from one.

"Hey..." He said quietly. "It's alright, now..." He added, shaking his head at her.
