Mrs. Tia Dawson was perhaps the most popular teacher at Martin High School. She was stern, always getting her lessons across, but she was also helpful and used tactics that seemed to make the students learn better. She was witty, collecting on a level with her students that made her seem like she related to them. As nearly everyone who passed through her Biology class left with flying colors, the other faculty and Board of Education highly praised her. Several times, she had won the Teacher of the Year Award.
It also helped that she was very attractive. Though in her mid-thirties, she had the appearance of a woman in her late twenties. She worked out often, wanting to maintain her youthful appearance. Her skin was an even bronzed complexion, perhaps a result of ancestry. She was well-dressed, showing up everyday with her auburn hair pulled into a bun at the base of her shoulders. Black-framed glasses sat on the bridge of her nose, the darker color bringing out her blue eyes.
But, as wonderful as she seemed, Mrs. Dawson had a dark secret: she cheated at grades. It wasn't that she was trying to give herself more credit for passing them, but she truly wanted her kids to succeed. She was married, with no children of her own, so this was her chance at showing maternal instinct. She didn't do anything too drastic, merely bumping up their scores every now and then. However, her grade curving would be highly frowned upon by the Board.
The proof was in a green folder, which she kept from anyone's wandering eyes. With mid-terms over, she was at school late trying to finish grading. Her eyes were tired, ready to leave. It was no wonder that when she was so hasty to leave, her folder slipped out into the student parking lot, which is where she chose to park as it gave her legs more exercise.
