There could be nothing worse.

His teacher was dating his mom.

The young blonde looked quite put-out as he watched his mom infront of her mirror, pursing her lips and spreading lipstick over the flesh. After smacking her rouged lips to make sure they were perfect, the woman reached up to lightly fluff her slightly wavy hair, her eyes roaming over her face and hair for anything she deemed to be an imperfection. After all, this was a special night. Heaven forbid she looked bad! No matter that she'd been dating the man for quite some months.

"Mom, are you ready yet?" The blonde said in a slightly impatient tone, his blue eyes looking up at the clock to check the time. Well, they weren't late, but it felt as if eternity was passing while his mom checked herself in the mirror.

If anyone was to ask him, she looked perfectly fine.

"One second Jeremy, I'll be ready in one second!" Mary said, pursing her lips once more for good measure. She fluffed a bang, unaware of her son’s discomfort.

After all, it had been ‘one second’ for the past ten minutes.

After she smoothed her skirt and fixed her top over her cleavage the woman turned to her son and smiled in a blissful manner—the type of smile that was very contagious. Jeremy couldn’t help but smile, too. His mother looked beautiful.

Still, he wasn’t happy about his mother going out with his seventh-grade teacher. No twelve year-old wanted something like that.

“Ready baby?” Mary asked. Jeremy pushed himself off the bed and nodded, heading out of her room and making his way to the door.

The car ride was short, at least. They were going to a near-by restaurant, and while that was all fine and dandy, Jeremy was sort of irked that it was a nicer restaurant and that he had to wear a nice shirt, with his nice pair of jeans which weren’t all that worn and which needed breaking in. They were uncomfortable. He couldn’t help but shift and wiggle.

After parking the car they stepped out, soft bottoms of Jeremy’s sneakers mixing with Mary’s heals clicking as they walked to the front of the restaurant. Trying to be a gentleman, or to mimic such niceties, Jeremy held the door over for his mother.

Now, all they needed to do was wait for his teacher.

Jeremy really wasn’t looking forward to it, really.

What a nightmare.

Nolan Windsdale has been teaching history to middle graders for the past 7 years. He was only in his late twenties. Nolan was an attractive man, tall...dark hair and dark blue eyes. He was very-very popular among the single mothers. Little did they know when flirting with these women through the year, dating some...it wasn't them he was after. Never did Mr. Windsdale date pretty mom's with pretty girls...

He glanced at his watch again. It would seem that his newest love interest this year was late again. It didn't bother him though, it gave him more time to relax some and take care of a little problem he'd been developing on the way over. Just thinking about this meeting got him excited.

When he saw them come in he promptly stood and went over to great them. Mr. Windsdale had had Jeremy in his class for half the school year now...time was running out. It took him a little longer to earn this mother's trust, but how he had her eating right out of his hand now! "I was begining to think the two of you got lost," he said in a very charming manner. NOlan extended his arm to escort his date to the already awaiting table. "I do hope Jeremy finished his homework," he said teasing the youth

"Sorry we're late, Nolan, dear," Mary cooed, and looked at her boyfriend of several months a bit hazy around the eyes. Oh yes, she was definitely eating out of the man's hand. She even looked in love.

It was enough to make Jeremy gag.

The boy shook his head and turned his eyes away, not being able to stand looking at his head-over-heels mother. And when he was addressed in the same sentance as the topic of his homework, Jeremy couldn't help but glower at his teacher.

If his mother dating his teacher wasn't bad enough, if seeing his teacher outside of school wasn't bad enough, it was bad, horrible, horrendous that his teacher would have the gall to bug him about his homework outside of school. On a Friday. The bastard.

It wasn't like the man wasn't nice, though. He was. But God! Did he have to bring up work?

Mary took Nolan's arm and let him escort them to their table. Once there she slid into the booth, scooting to the end. Jeremy went to sit next to her, and Mary touched his hand.

"Why don't you sit next to Nolan, tonight? Get to know him, sweetie," she suggested. Jeremy shot a glance at his teacher.
