What was it his father had said? The day that mysterious steel crate was brought home under guard of five men? From this day on, NO going into the basement! Or.. at least from his memory. The operation room's door was locked, but it didn't stop the young brunette from opening the other door, switching on the light quickly, and peering around inside.

Why had his father suddenly barred this place? What could possibly be here?

It had been ages since he had been free. There were few to no memories in his mind. He didn't bother turning human, he stayed in his wolf form, the creature currently laying down in his cage. The werewolf was annoyed at the sudden burst of light. He hadn't been expecting it. He huffed as he sat there, his ears twitching at each and every sound that the strange child made. He couldn't remember being moved out of his original lab, he remembered being moved around, but he had no idea he was in a place where a child could just walk in and see him. He sniffed the air a little before uncurling from the small ball he had tried to become. Golden eyes gazed out towards the child and he pressed his snout up against the cage's door.

This child smelt like the man who was the only person he had seen in a long time. He put his front paws on the ground before him and scrapped at the cage's bottom. Perhaps if he pretended to be a dog, a pet even, the boy would get curious and let him out. Children were not the brightest things in the world after all.

As the wolf waited, whining lightly and pawing at the cage's floor he wondered how this boy had managed to slip down here without his father knowing. He thought before recalling the man had mumbled something about leaving, which would explain why there was so much food left behind. He thought now. If the man was gone, and this boy had managed to get down here, it meant no one was watching him, or guarding the basement. He could get free and run away if he wanted too. This was perfect, he would have been grinning if he had chosen to turn back into a human form.

James sighed as he listened to Daniel. He dug around his fridge before finding some frozen meat and he shoved it into the microwave to defrost.
