A Designer and his Model [Rene and Obie]

Dragon fashion was a small company started by one William Jones. It was a fairly new company, not even open for a half year. It had no boutique to speak of, no shop, only a small online store with a few unique styles available. However that typically extended to the male sex, only selling accessories for the fairer gender. Will knew this was a problem. He could not accurately design women's clothing without a model, or a person there to measure it on. Mannequins and dressforms only went so far. And so an ad went out in the local paper:

New Fashion Store looking for Female Model.
Pay in both cut of profit and clothing.
Preferable age between 17 and 20.

He was fairly happy with the turnout of replies, but one in particular caught his eye. He decided to call her back. She wasn't home at the time, but to be courteous, he left a reply for the young lady. It was a short message, telling her that she had been chosen, and that she would need to report to his apartment studio on the next monday at 11 am. Hanging up the phone, Will reclined in his desk chair, running his hands through his hair. So he had a model now. This was a big step for him and his company. Leaning back forward, he picked up his trusty pencil and began to sketch out a few small ideas he wanted to try when the model arrived that next monday.

It was her dream job. The chance to model clothing for any kind of fashion company. Sure it wasn't a really well known place, but it was a start. If Alyce did her job she would be happy, and the fashion company might even be pulled up into the spot light. This was mostly her imagination running wild though. She gasped and cheered when she had come home to the message. This was perfect! She started soon too! The eighteen year old was happy that had gotten a job. Hopefully it lasted, she had spent too much money to get here, and her parents had disowned her for not continuing her education in college or university.

The hours raced by as she went shopping and picked out a nice outfit for her first day or work. She needed something new in her wardrobe, and something that would show her employer that she was perfect. Of course, she knew he was already interested in her because out of dozens of replies (she was sure he had gotten plenty, after all how many girls gave up free clothes and money?) she was chosen.

Monday came quickly, and she showed up to work a few minutes early. She didn't want to seem overly excited, but she was horribly excited, there was no arguing this. She beamed, brushing her shoulder length brown hair back and away from her pale skin. Dark blue eyes scanned over the location before she moved to go in, and hopefully she would find out if she was really what this man wanted.

Will brushed the stray strands of black hair from in front of his glasses, blue eyes gazing down at the sketches he had completed so far. There were only a few, even after a week had gone by. Crumpled up papers littered the floor surrounding his trashcan, none of them having made it in. He flipped through the sketches again. A costume or two, a swimsuit, several dresses, some more gothic and punk styled outfits, and even some lingerie. He was a fashion designer, so hopefully his new model would not think it strange his selection. Setting the sketches down, he walked downstairs in his apartment, sitting on the couch and falling asleep, monday only a few hours away.

Waking to the dawn, Will sat up. He forgot to even remove is glasses. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he stood up and walked slowly to his room. He threw on a new shirt and pants, and made sure his neck length black hair was straight. Looking out his window he could see his model waiting outside. Such a pretty thing, he thought. Composing himself, he walked back to the living room and to the door, opening it to greet his guest.

"AH, you must be Alyce. My name is Will, come on in."

Alyce smiled brightly when the man introduced himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you," she said politely as she nodded and headed in. She was nervous and it showed, her cheeks painted a soft pink, and her eyes moved about, never focusing on the man for long. She wanted this job, she knew she was probably the right girl for the job, but there was always the faint hint of doubt in the back of her mind. What if he didn't like her? Could she possibly be too fat? Of course, she wasn't fat, she was thin, but she always thought she had pieces of fat here and there. What girl didn't think they were a little over weight though?

Alyce rubbed her arm a little, brushing her hair back and tucking some of it behind her ear. "So, Will," she started in a soft tone, "what will I be doing for you today?" her voice quivered towards the end of the question. She realized it wasn't hard to hear, her cheeks turned a deep red. "I'm sorry, I'm nervous for today. I have to admit. I really hope I'm what you were looking for. I've always wanted a job like this," she whispered before looking down at the ground for a moment, before her blue eyes slowly drifted upwards and at the man before her.
