The bell tolled for the beginning of class at Hawkford Boarding School for the Magically Gifted. It was a sunny day, peaceful and quiet. Students could be seen dozing off in class, imagining the end of the class when they'd be free from their studies for the weekend. One student in particular was gazing out the window, letting her mind wander to the forests on the border of the school and her adopted family who hide just out of sight. She could feel them out there, waiting for her to join them for a run through the trees. Shadowdancer they had named her when she had arrived here, though those in the school would call her Aelia.

Aelia had been accepted to Hawkford because she had been found roaming the wilderness of northern France naked and along, running through the wilderness on all fours like a beast. She couldn't speak any sort of understandable language when she had been found, she had growled and yelped like an animal. So they had shipped her here to this school where they taught her to speak English and walk upright. Aelia had no recollection of her past before she was found, she could only remember hearing the call of far off voices, the pull of those voices had been so strong. She learned that they were the voices of wolves and she could commune with the beasts. The local pack that resided near Hawkford had adopted her and given her the name Shadowdancer.

She barely heard a word the teacher said as she gazed absently out the window, speaking with the Alpha female of the pack, encouraging them to stay hidden. Not that they would come nearer to the school than the edge of the forest. The only reason they were so close to a human settlement in the first place was Aelia.
