The translator spoke to Arvid quickly and then Arvid replied. The translator ran off and then came back quickly with a leather tunic, some boots, gloves and a golden arm band. He began speaking quickly, "Arvid says these clothes are for you, along with the golden arm band. In the viking tradition, a person is awarded an arm band when they have done something that impresses their lord. You stood up to Arvid and it impressed him, no man shall touch you as long as you wear the arm band." The translator put them down on the bed, "Earl Arvid also wants you to start learning Danish as quickly as possible."

Marin glanced briefly at the clotehs than stared back at Arvid. Even though the translator spoke, she knew it was Arvid's words, so she kept her eyes on him. Learning Danish wasn't a bad idea.
