Here's a little about me:

Jerry’s career in the entertainment business began at the marketing department of the TV series “Austin City Limits” where he helped promote various artists such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Lyle Lovett and Delbert McClinton. Jerry started working towards his Bachelor's degree in Business Management while serving as a Forward Observer in the United States Marine Corps. Following his "tour of duty" he joined the investment firm of Merrill Lynch and promoted stock and bond offerings for various entertainment and leisure companies such as Gaylord Entertainment (The Grand Ole Opry), Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Blockbuster Video, and Mirage Resorts where we worked with Garth Brooks, Los Lobos and Selena. In 1997 he left the financial services industry to pursue his passion for music and concert promotions in Central Texas working with several Blues, Rock, and Folk acts including Shake Russell, Doug Sahm, and Freddy Fender.

In 2004 he was given the opportunity to share his experiences with the students in Full Sail's Entertainment Business program where he taught Accounting and Product and Artist Management. Aside from his current duties as the Course Director of Artist Development and Concert Management in the Music Business program, He is also a founding member and current President of the Orange Blossom Blues Society, and promotes and produces several "emerging artist" events each year at various local venues including The House of Blues, Dexter's, BackBooth, The Social, Hard Rock Live and BB King's.

His editorial column entitled "Where to Go for Dinner and a Show" reviews local venues with live entertainment and can be found in each quarterly publication of MyCityEats and Entertainment. On weekends you may find Jerry playing bass at a blues jam or listening to a local band who's "building a buzz."

This was sent to me today via email. I'm impressed by this guy's record and flattered he emailed me, but how the hell did he know that I loved the blues and wanted to form a blues band? He left his email and phone number under his name, but I left it out since I don't think he's appreciate me putting his info up on a public board.

I've been told I have a good voice, though I have no delusions that I'm anywhere as near as good as Janis Joplin, but I can't help but be excited by the prospect of being in a blues band and touring the state. But I'm having a few doubts. How in the world did this guy get my information? Maybe it's a prank? A sexual predator?? I honestly don't know what to think.

So I'm asking you, my dear Blue Mooners, do you think I should give this guy a call?

It could be. You gotta look into the guy's profile and see if he's for real.
