Subject: m a g i c >< m a n [one on one labyrinth search] Sat Dec 06, 2008 10:49 am
First off, I'm looking for a Jareth. That means I will be playing Sarah. Before asking for this, please know this: + Iza does not roleplay over PMs or messengers. Don't like it? Tough shit. + Iza is looking for a literate partner. Decent spelling, grammar, and post length. At least two fat paragraphs, please. Oh, and in third person past tense if you please. + Iza wants long term! That means don't disappear on me! I realize that some of you have real life you worry about. No problem, but tell me if your schedule is getting hectic. + Stay in character! I cannot stress this enough. Jareth is not a cuddly little bitch. He's the Goblin King for Christ sakes! He's dominate, he's controlling, and he's a sore loser!
Ahem. Now that I've gotten that out of the way....
The plotness!
Sarah is now all grown up and attending college. Stresses of life have caused her to forget her little trip to the Underground, but the Goblin King has not forgotten her. Jareth has been keeping a close watch over the girl who beat him at his own game. He's watched her grow up and develop into a stunning young woman. He's more than a little put out that she's forgotten him, though by the way of his crystal ball, he knows that he still haunts her dreams. After looking in on a particular delicious dream of Sarah's, he decides to go pay her a visit.
Sarah is no longer the naive little girl that she once was, and she is less than happy to see the Goblin King in all his tight-wearing glory. She's even less enthusiastic when Jareth proposes that she give him another thirteen hours in which to make her wish she had never rejected him. After much taunting, she accepts and is whisked away to the castle beyond the goblin city and into the waiting arms of the Goblin King.

What an intriguing plot. I love that you used the David Bowie version. ^^
Good luck finding what you want.

You know, it's been a while since I saw the original Labyrinth, but I think that that would be a hell of an RP to put together!

There's another version of the Goblin King other than David Bowie??

Not quite what I meant, but what I mean is that the David Bowie version of the Goblin King in that movie Labyrinth WAS the version I saw long ago.

I thought Pan's Labyrinth was supposed to be another version of this...but I could just be terribly confused.

I don't think so. The two are very different, from what I remember of Labyrinth.

Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth and Jim Henson's Labyrinth are worlds apart. They have nothing to do with one another. Although both movies are VERY good, I'm looking for the Jim Henson Labyrinth.

It still is. One day I'm going to make a movie and use puppets instead of CGI and bring that shit back!

I'm not going to beat you. I love Pan's Labyrinth too. Though I wish I spoke Spanish so I didn't have to read the subtitles...
But The Labyrinth has the sexiness that is Jareth, and fun songs to sing and dance to.

I do speak Spanish! That movie scares me, though, lovely as it is, so I need to find someone to hold me if I want to watch it over again.

I speak some French, but almost no Spanish.
The only parts that really freaked me out about that movie was the face smashing and the white child eating thing...
That thing gave me nightmares. ;-;
We could watch it together and hold each other. <3

The face smashing killed me. As did the thing with the eyes in its hand.
Actually, the level of violence in the movie is more than I can usually take. But it was so pretty. The story, the characters, the colours used, I couldn't resist.

^ ^;; I'm used to much more graphic violent scenes than that so it didn't bother me too much.
The white thing was just creepy though. I hate how it walks > <

I'm not used to violence, truth be told. I mean, not of a personal kind like that.
Did you take the ending to mean she was imagining it all, or was it real?

It was all real. Otherwise how the fuck would she have gotten so slimy and muddy in the tree/frog scene? I've never seen a tree with an underground tunnel before. Hollow, maybe. But tunnel? Nah.
I like to believe that she went back to her kingdom in the end.

One can get muddy/slimy in a forest.
And yes, I prefer it to be real in my mind. My ex teased me about that, since I'm such a materialist in real life.

I've lived in a place like that when I was little. Never once did I come home looking like that, and I was a dirty little child too. I'd roll around in the mud if I found some.
I'm a bit of a romantic. I would have cried and hated the movie if Ophelia had just died. I will always believe that she went back to her kingdom.
